Famicom Bunko: Hajimari no Mori (Famicom Literature: Forest of Beginnings) is a text adventure game for the Super Famicom, originally exclusively available from the Nintendo Power cartridge service.
At a much later date, on July 17, 2007 the game was released on the Japanese Wii Shop Channel Virtual Console. On August 21, 2013, the game became available as a downloadable Virtual Console title on Japanese Wii U Nintendo eShop.
Story
The game features a nameless boy who decides to take a train to see his grandfather at Kuzunoki Village after his school vacation. Behind the railway tracks, he meets a mysterious girl in a forest, who he then befriends. The boy, after losing her, sets off to find her on an adventure, interacting with various people along the way, including a group of friends who were cruel to him originally.
Gameplay
Similarly to Shin Onigashima, which also had involvement from Softnica, The game is a text-based adventure where actions are chosen through a menu. The game also includes various text based minigames throughout the story.
