Nookipedia is an independent wiki and NIWA member focusing on the Animal Crossing series.
The wiki also had its own dedicated message board for both fan and Wiki discussion, known as The Bulletin Board. However, this closed on June 24, 2018, with all off-wiki discussion now taking place on Discord instead.
History
On July 12, 2010, Leem01 founded Animal Crossing Wiki, an independent wiki covering Animal Crossing and as part of an extension of Animal Crossing Forums (which was also founded by him). Soon after, Leem01's wiki was made into a NIWA affiliate; the intention was to eventually apply for membership. However, later in the year, a database issue forced Animal Crossing Wiki to be closed.
Months later on October 23, 2010, Animal Crossing Wiki was relaunched by Jake, restarting the project from scratch. Not long after its restoration, members from Animal Crossing City, a rival wiki hosted on Wikia (now Fandom) wanted off the wiki platform and merge with Jake's wiki. The merger took place during November, and after its completion, Animal Crossing Wiki became an official NIWA member on November 19, 2010. On December 31, 2010, Animal Crossing Wiki was officially renamed to Nookipedia, alongside the launch of a new site skin.
The wiki elected its first Editor-in-Chief, Sunmarsh, who ran from November 18, 2019 to June 24, 2021.
