- September 20, 2023 — NIWA's Cross-Wiki Week 2023 begins September 23. For information on the event and how to participate (for the chance to win a Nintendo e-Shop card!), see Cross-Wiki Week 2023.
- August 30, 2023 — Rhythm Heaven Wiki, the Rhythm Heaven wiki, has officially joined NIWA!
- June 21, 2023 - A Nintendo Direct aired on June 21, 2023. In it, new games were announced such as Super Mario Bros. Wonder, a remake of Super Mario RPG, an untitled game with Princess Peach as the protagonist, an HD remaster of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, WarioWare: Move It!, Detective Pikachu Returns, and HD remasters of Pikmin and Pikmin 2. More information was also revealed for the upcoming Pikmin 4, the "The Last Spark Hunter" DLC for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC "The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero", and Wave 5 of the Booster Course Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
- March 2, 2023 — Kovopedia, the Magical Vacation wiki, has officially joined NIWA!
- February 9, 2023 - A Nintendo Direct showcasing upcoming Nintendo Switch games was broadcast.
- January 19, 2023 - Kingdom Hearts Wiki has officially joined NIWA!
- December 13, 2022 - Drawn to Life Wapopedia has officially joined NIWA!
- February 8, 2022 - A Nintendo Direct aired on February 9, 2022, focusing on Nintendo Switch games launching during the first half of 2022. In it, new games were announced such as Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Nintendo Switch Sports, Mario Strikers: Battle League and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, as well as a remake of Live A Live released internationally for the first time. Add-on content was also revealed for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (the Booster Course Pass), available to be paid separately or for free with the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack. Furthermore, the next wave of Splatoon 3's co-op mode Salmon Run was announced. EarthBound and EarthBound Beginnings was added to Nintendo Switch Online.

Pokémon Gold Version (Japanese: ポケットモンスター金 Pocket Monsters Kin, literally Pocket Monsters Gold) and Pokémon Silver Version (Japanese: ポケットモンスター銀 Pocket Monsters Gin, literally Pocket Monsters Silver) were the fifth and sixth Pokémon games released, beginning the second generation of the Pokémon series.
Developed as a sequel to Pokémon Red and Green, Gold and Silver expanded the Pokémon world westward into the region of Johto, where 100 Pokémon not appearing in the earlier games could be found.
