The Super Scope, released in European and Australian languages as the Nintendo Scope, is a light gun accessory for the SNES. The accessory was largely released in North America in 1992 and in Europe in 1993; it also saw a limited release in Japan in 1993. The accessory was bundled with a game titled Super Scope 6.
Features and functionality
The Super Scope comes with three pieces: the device itself (called the Transmitter), the Receiver (SNS-014), and a detachable scope. It requires six AA batteries to operate. The device uses a bazooka-like design, with a handle on the front and a shoulder mount on the back. On the top of the gun are three buttons: a power button for the Super Scope, a Pause button, and a Fire button. The handle on the front also features a "Cursor" button, to enable an on-screen targeting reticle. The power button has three settings: Off, On, and Turbo.
The sight attaches to the top front of the gun, which features two sets of clips for either left or right-handed players, and behind the clips is a release button to detach the sight. The Receiver connects to the console's second controller port.
