Marvelous is a series of Super Nintendo Entertainment System games developed and published by Nintendo about three young male adventurers, also revolving around Captain Maverick and an island full of treasure. The name of the game is taken from a legendary treasure left on the island by Captain Maverick called "Marvelous", which the adventurers try to find.
The series was inspired lots by The Legend of Zelda series, uses The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past's engine and directed by Eiji Aonuma, who is well-known for that franchise.[1][2]
The game physically only has one entry; Marvelous: Mouhitotsu no Takarajima for Super Famicom, though there were discontinued Satellaview broadcasts called BS Marvelous: Time Athletics (technically the first game) and BS Marvelous: Camp Arnold. All of these games are exclusive to Japan.
