Cruis'n is an arcade racing game franchise owned by Nintendo. Originally created and developed by Eugene Jarvis and Midway Games, the series has also been ported to and released on a number of home consoles.
Overview
The Cruis'n series began with the arcade release of Cruis'n USA in 1994, developed by Midway Games, and later saw release for the Nintendo 64 in 1996. The game was followed upon by two sequels: Cruis'n World and Cruis'n Exotica, both originally released for arcades before seeing a home console port for Nintendo 64 (and in the case of Exotica, another version for Game Boy Color).
Following Cruis'n Exotica, new installments in the series were only released for Nintendo's home devices and primarily handled by Midway. Cruis'n Velocity was released for the Game Boy Advance in November 2001 in North America, and in February 2002 in Europe. The game is a pseudo-3D racing game developed by Graphic State. Later, in 2007, Midway would release Cruis'n for the Wii. Developed by Just Games Interactive, the game is a port of Raw Thrills' The Fast and the Furious arcade game originally released in 2004, removing any references to the film as Midway had lost the license to the film partway through development.
Cruis'n Blast, a new arcade title in the series, was released in January 2017. Originally released in a test run during the spring 2016 as Cruis'n Adventure[1] and a second time during the summer as Cruis'n Red Line[2], the proper release of the game was announced in September 2016.[3] The game was developed by Raw Thrills.
