Shigesato Itoi (Japanese: 糸井重里) is the creator of the EarthBound series of video games, and a close friend to Satoru Iwata, Shigeru Miyamoto. He is also known for his company Hobonichi, its newspaper Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shinbun as well as the Shigesato Itoi no Bass Tsuri No. 1 series, and DSiWare titles Hobonichi Rosenzu 2009, Hobonichi Rosenzu 2010: Zengoku 7 Area + Shinkansen Map and Hobonichi no Kenkou Techou.
Outside of video games, Shigesato Itoi is known as a copywriter, lyricist, and actor.
