What's happening at Nintendo & NIWA

February 21, 2024 — During a Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, various games were introduced developed by Nintendo's partners. A new upcoming game published by Nintendo was revealed; Endless Ocean: Luminous. The Splatoon 3: Expansion Pass - Side Order was released. Additionally, there were updates for additional legacy games on Nintendo Switch Online. Outside of Japan, original Rare developed and Nintendo published games; Snake Rattle 'n' Roll, R.C. Pro-Am (NES), Battletoads in Battlemaniacs, Killer Instinct (SNES), Blast Corps (Nintendo 64; for the Expansion Pack). In Japan only; Mother 3 (Game Boy Advance). October 26, 2023 — MiiWiki has officially joined NIWA! September 20, 2023 — NIWA's Cross-Wiki Week 2023 begins September 23. September 14, 2023 - During a Nintendo Direct, four previously unannounced games were revealed; F-Zero 99, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Nintendo Switch), Another Code: Recollection, Mario vs. Donkey Kong (Nintendo Switch). Additionally further information was revealed for the new Princess Peach game, including its name: Princess Peach: Showtime!, as well as Super Mario RPG (Nintendo Switch), WarioWare: Move It!, Detective Pikachu Returns, Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, the Splatoon 3 Expansion Pass and the sixth and final Booster Course DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Furthermore, there was an announcement for the upcoming Nintendo Museum. August 30, 2023 — Rhythm Heaven Wiki, the Rhythm Heaven wiki, has officially joined NIWA! June 21, 2023 - A Nintendo Direct aired on June 21, 2023. In it, new games were announced such as Super Mario Bros. Wonder, a remake of Super Mario RPG, an untitled game with Princess Peach as the protagonist, an HD remaster of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, WarioWare: Move It!, Detective Pikachu Returns, and HD remasters of Pikmin and Pikmin 2. More information was also revealed for the upcoming Pikmin 4, the "The Last Spark Hunter" DLC for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC "The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero", and Wave 5 of the Booster Course Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. March 2, 2023 — Kovopedia, the Magical Vacation wiki, has officially joined NIWA! February 9, 2023 - A Nintendo Direct showcasing upcoming Nintendo Switch games was broadcast. January 19, 2023 - Kingdom Hearts Wiki has officially joined NIWA! December 13, 2022 - Drawn to Life Wapopedia has officially joined NIWA! October 20, 2022 - Congratulations to Zelda Wiki on reclaiming their independence! February 8, 2022 - A Nintendo Direct aired on February 9, 2022, focusing on Nintendo Switch games launching during the first half of 2022. In it, new games were announced such as Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Nintendo Switch Sports, Mario Strikers: Battle League and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, as well as a remake of Live A Live released internationally for the first time. Add-on content was also revealed for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (the Booster Course Pass), available to be paid separately or for free with the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack. Furthermore, the next wave of Splatoon 3's co-op mode Salmon Run was announced. EarthBound and EarthBound Beginnings was added to Nintendo Switch Online.

• March 30th, 2012 - NIWA welcomes its 21st member (and the final member of the 5th wave), Dragon Quest Wiki! Although not a first or second party franchise, the Dragon Quest series by Square Enix has had some of its games published by Nintendo outside of Japan, as well as being primarily developed for Nintendo consoles. It has seen cross-overs with the Mario franchise in the games Itadaki Street DS and Fortune Street.
• March 23rd, 2012 - NIWA welcomes its 20th member (and the 2nd member of the 5th wave), Icaruspedia! Coinciding with its induction, Kid Icarus: Uprising has been released in Europe and North America, making it the first game to be added to the Kid Icarus franchise since 1992's Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters. Its main character, Pit, was last seen in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
• March 16th, 2012 - NIWA welcomes its 19th member (and the 1st member of the 5th wave), F-Zero Wiki!
• May 29, 2011 - Pikmin Fanon have officially affiliated with Fantendo! Go there for more Fanon awesomeness!
• May 26th, 2011: Via Community Consensus, Lylat Wiki's the merger with Arwingpedia was declared as over.
• April 28th, 2011: A new Wiki has arrived! Starfy Wiki is added as the 18th Wiki of NIWA.
• April 20th, 2011: Fire Emblem Wiki is added as the 17th Wiki of NIWA.
• March 20th, 2011: WiKirby Founder & Current Owner, Axiomist, along with friend to all NIWA Wiki's, has passed away. Please read this article on Zelda Informer for more information.

• July 16, 2010-Affiliate News Unseen64 and Animal Crossing Forums have affiliated with WiKirby! Unseen64 has long ago placed WiKirby links to all Kirby beta content articles. Be sure to check them out at Unseen64.net Animal Crossing Forums is a new site with much promise, get to know them at Animal Crossing Forums!
• 4th July 2010: Metroid Wiki just passed the 400 article page mark. Thanks to all of our editors who have contributed thus far, but remember, there's still heaps to be done including pages to be created and stubs to be expanded upon.
