Gameplay
Much of the gameplay of Majora's Mask 3D has been revamped from the original and carried over from Ocarina of Time 3D, similar to the original games. The bottom screen has been dedicated to the HUD, allowing players to view a map of the game world and their collected masks and items. Also like Ocarina of Time 3D players have four item buttons, with two of the face buttons and two touch screen buttons.
Majora's Mask takes place in the world of Termina, using a type of gameplay referred to as the "three-day cycle", in which the game takes place over the course of three in-game days that can be restarted at any time using the Ocarina of Time. However, the player can no longer save by playing the Song of Time, and instead must save using the Owl Statues. The Sheikah Stone from Ocarina of Time 3D, which allow players to receive hints on how to progress through the game, obtain certain items, or complete sidequests.
