A Legendary Team

In the visual style of the critically-acclaimed The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds game comes a new adventure. In this journey, three players team up– each as Link – to cooperatively make their way through inventive dungeons and battle bosses. Use the new Totem mechanic to stack three Links on top of each other to reach higher grounds and solve puzzles. Collect loot to create wearable outfits, each with a different boost or ability.

Features:

  • Similar visual style and top-down view of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.
  • As Link, buddy up with two other Link characters and cooperatively solve inventive puzzles to progress through the game.
  • All three players share hearts, so they must work together to defeat enemies and solve puzzles.
  • Stack three Links on top of each other with the new “Totem” mechanic, which makes it possible to reach new locations to solve puzzles.
  • Collect loot to create wearable outfits, each with a different boost or ability. Each dungeon is structured with four main areas.
  • Single-player mode allows the player to rent two paper dolls to take along to complete the team of three and face challenges in dungeons.
  • Choose from a set of emoticons to communicate with each other while playing in multiplayer mode.
  • Team up with two other players in multiplayer mode via local wireless connection, online** and with download play.

Story

In the fashion-centered land of Hytopia, Lady Maud, a witch from the Drablands, is jealous of Princess Styla's cute fashion sense and sends her a gift, which turns out to be a trap that curses her to permanently wear an ugly jumpsuit. As a result, the citizens of the land have become afraid to show off their own sense of fashion, fearing the witch will curse them as well. However, according to the legend of the Tri Force Heroes, three heroes will show up to save Hytopia when it is in peril, and the king, believing in this legend, sends out a call to distant lands for heroes to enter the Drablands. Link, coming across one of the king's notices, heads to the castle to fight alongside other heroes to take down the witch and bring Hytopia back to peace.

Gameplay

Up to three players can play as one of three Links simultaneously, either online or locally via download play or a local wireless connection; a single-player option is also available in which the other two Links are animated dolls called Doppels. The three Links can cooperate in ways such as climbing on top of each other to form a "totem" and coordinating their attacks properly. Other gameplay elements, in addition to the visual style, are drawn from A Link Between Worlds, such as the energy bar and the 3D structure of the game. All three players share the same hearts, Rupees, and fairies. Each player can also use Rupees or Materials to buy and craft costumes for their Link, which give him different bonus effects.

A second multiplayer mode known as the Coliseum is also available, in which players fight against each other in various stages; the player who takes the least amount of damage is the winner.
