Project Sora was a video game developer founded in 2009 by Satoru Iwata and Masahiro Sakurai. Nintendo held a 72% majority stake of the company, with Sora Ltd. and other companies forming the other 28% stake. The studio was founded for the sole purpose of developing Kid Icarus: Uprising, after development of Super Smash Bros. Brawl had been completed.
Project Sora was closed on June 30, 2012, after the game had already been released in March.
