NX is the codename for Nintendo's upcoming home console platform[2][3]. The development of the new platform was initially confirmed by Satoru Iwata during an investor's briefing in March 2015.[4], and is expected to launch in March 2017 worldwide[1].

According to Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima, the NX is not intended to be the successor to either the Wii U or the Nintendo 3DS family[5], and is based around a new concept.[5][4] The Pokémon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara has stated that the console "is trying to change what it means to be a home console device or a hand-held device".[6]

Games

Currently, five games have been confirmed to be released for the NX: Just Dance 2017, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild[7], Template:Dqw[8], Template:Dqw[9], and "Project Sonic 2017"[10]. Breath of the Wild is the only Nintendo-published game confirmed so far.
