Pokémon Bank is a Pokémon transfer application for Nintendo 3DS. Due to an excessive volume of traffic, the initial release of this software had to be postponed.
Gameplay
It is not a game but a transfer software to be used with existing Pokémon games. Pokémon Bank allows the player to manage up to 3000 Pokémon for an annual fee (however, on launch it was available for a limited time for free), and move them across Generation VI and VII games.
Additionally in combination with Poké Transporter, it can transfer Pokémon from Generation I and II (via the Virtual Console releases of Pokémon Red and Blue, Pokémon Yellow, Pokémon Gold and Silver and Pokémon Crystal) or Generation V up to those games. Before using Bank, this can be combined with previous transfer methods to transfer from Generations III and IV as well, namely Poké Transfer and Pal Park.
There are a few bonus Pokémon the player can obtain through the software through events. Pokémon Bank has been succeeded by Pokémon Home for Nintendo Switch and mobile/smart devices.
