The Wii Family Edition (only named in Europe) is a revision of the original Wii console, released in 2011 in North America, Europe, and Australia. It retailed for $149.99, costing less than the original Wii.

The Wii Family Edition came in black and white. It removed GameCube compatibility and all of its respective ports, and was bundled without a stand, as the console is meant to be placed horizontally. It was also bundled with a Wii Remote Plus and a Nunchuk.

In North America, it came with a copy of New Super Mario Bros. Wii and the soundtrack for Super Mario Galaxy.[5] Later releases featured Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort bundled with the console.[6] In Europe, it was bundled with Wii Party and Wii Sports.[3] Additionally in Europe, a special blue Wii Family Edition came in a bundle with Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, releasing on November 18, 2011 in collaboration with Sega.[7]
