StreetPass Mii Plaza is a downloadable application for Nintendo 3DS allowing users to interact with Mii characters shared over StreetPass or Nintendo Network, and the primary usage of StreetPass on the Nintendo 3DS system. The StreetPass Mii Plaza software is pre-installed on all Nintendo 3DS family systems since launch.
Functionality
StreetPass Mii Plaza allows players to exchange their Mii characters and profiles with other players using the StreetPass functionality of the Nintendo 3DS.
Games
Eleven individual games have currently been released for StreetPass Mii Plaza, in which players play using other players' Mii characters. The first two games, Puzzle Swap and Find Mii, were included with the system at launch. The next set of four games were later released with the update in June 2013, another two games were released in April 2015, and another set of five games were released with the September 2016 update.
Puzzle Swap
Puzzle Swap (ピースあつめの旅 Pīsu Atsume no Tabi) is one of the two games included with the software since launch. Puzzle Swap allows players to swap pieces of panels that form a larger, 3D-animated image based on a Nintendo game or franchise or a game on Nintendo's systems. New panels are frequently distributed through SpotPass.
In addition to StreetPassing with others, players can also use Play Coins to buy a random piece from an incomplete panel, though it may be a piece they already have. Larger panels also feature pink pieces in the center of the image, which can only be obtained by StreetPassing with players who have those pieces (originally obtained through SpotPass). In addition to this, the version 5.0 update introduced "Bonus Chance", which allows a player to take any number of additional random pieces from a given panel along with the one selected.
