Nintendo Entertainment Analysis and Development, commonly abbreviated as Nintendo EAD, is the largest department branch of Nintendo. It was formed in 1983 when Hiroshi Yamauchi decided to create a new department focusing around Shigeru Miyamoto. Its current president is Satoru Iwata and Miyamoto is the division's general manager.
