A new Mario game you can play with one hand!
At long last, Mario jumps into a new adventure on iPhone and iPad, this time playable using only one hand.
Even if this is your first Mario game, you won't be able to put it down!
In this game, you constantly move forward through the courses while using a variety of jumps to navigate. Your character will behave differently depending on the timing of your taps, so it's up to you to show off particularly smooth moves, gather coins, and reach the goal.
Super Mario Run offers three different game modes:
- The first mode features challenging courses for you to complete.
- In the second mode, you challenge the play data of other people's completed courses. You compete to see who can finish the course with the most style!
- In the third mode, you can create your own Mushroom Kingdom using coins collected by playing the first two game modes.
Gameplay
The game has Mario automatically running through stages to collect as many coins as possible and reaching the goal at the end within a given time limit. While Mario will automatically vault over small enemies and obstacles, the player must tap the screen to properly jump, wall jump, and climb up ledges. The longer the player taps the screen, the higher Mario jumps. Mario gains coins by collecting them on the stage, jumping on enemies, and even jumping onto the Goal Pole at the end of the stage.[5] Each stage also features five Challenge Coins; collecting all of them in a stage unlocks a new set of Challenge Coins that are more difficult to collect.[6] All of the coins the player collects in a stage are added to an overall total.[7]
The game feature three different gameplay modes. The main mode is World Tour, featuring a similar structure to a normal Super Mario game, in which players go through worlds of four stages each. In Toad Rally mode, players challenge each others' high scores by playing through a given stage and trying to impress as many Toads as possible.[5] Finally, Kingdom Builder allows players to use the Toads they have gathered and spend their coins on accessories and objects to create their own kingdom. Some of the buildings that can be placed unlock minigames, while others unlock new playable characters, such as Luigi (who can jump higher), Yoshi (who can Flutter Jump), and Toad (exclusively available through My Nintendo).[6]
