MarioWiki (mariowiki.net), not to be confused with the English Super Mario Wiki, is a German collaborative wiki about the Super Mario series and a founding member of the German version of NIWA. It was founded by an user named Metallmario in 2007, using the wikifarm Fandom, back then known as Wikia, as its platform. In 2012 the wiki first became independant, as its administrators decided to move it to a self-hosted MediaWiki. The MarioWiki became part of a multi-site project, also including a forum and a fanpage about the Super Mario series.
In 2019, a new administrator, Semako, took responsibility for the MarioWiki and moved it to a new server again, as the old one was slow and suffered too much downtime.
The MarioWiki currently has over 6000 articles.
