The Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition (known in Europe and Australia as the Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System) is a miniaturized Super Nintendo Entertainment System featuring a selection of built-in games, and the successor to the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition. As the second system in the "Classics" (Nintendo Classic Mini in Europe) label, the system will be released on September 29, 2017.[1][2]
Production
The system was originally announced in June 2017.[1] Nintendo have stated that they plan to manufacture more units than the NES Classic Edition, but only until the end of 2017.[4]
Features
The Super NES Classic Edition is built after the original SNS-001 system (using its North American design for the North American release and PAL design for the PAL release[2]). Like the original NES Classic Edition system, the SNES Classic Edition connects to a television using HDMI, and is powered through a USB-based AC Adapter. The system includes two Super NES Classic Controllers[1]
Games
The Super NES Classic Edition features twenty-one built-in titles:[1]
