Mario Paint is an art-based creativity game released for the SNES. Retail copies of the game were packaged with the Super NES Mouse peripheral, which players use to control the game and create music or art.

The Mario Paint BS Ban (Broadcasting Satellite version) was a special, discontinued version of Mario Paint for the Japan-only Super Famicom's add-on, the Satellaview.

The game is based on the original Mario Paint, but has a small addition/change to give it joypad support (the original could only be controlled with SNES Mouse). This series of Mario Paint variations, introduced an art contest that began in November 1997.
