Download and play Super Mario 64 on your Wii U console. Originally released on the Nintendo 64 system, this was the first Super Mario game with a 3D world. Master Mario's actions in 3D and collect the Power Stars!

Story

The game begins with a letter from Princess Peach inviting Mario to come to her castle for some cake. He arrives to find that Bowser has taken over the castle and imprisoned the princess. In order to regain control of the castle and rescue Peach, Mario must collect the Power Stars that Bowser has hidden throughout the castle.

Gameplay

Super Mario 64 is a 3D platformer in which players play as Mario, with the ability to roam freely in all directions within the area's confines. Princess Peach's Castle acts as the main hub world, from which levels can be accessed. The game features 15 main levels in which the goal is to collect stars in order to open new rooms in the castle. Stars are obtained through various means, usually using Mario's abilities, such as punching, jumping, and running, to fulfill the requirements for gaining stars in each level. Requirements include fighting bosses, winning races, or simply reaching the location of the star. In some levels, Mario must use power-ups in the process of obtaining stars. In addition to the main 15 levels, there are some smaller, hidden levels that contain fewer stars, and a few stars are hidden around the castle.
