Chase Mii is a Wii U tech demo shown off at E3 2011 alongside the reveal of the Wii U. The demo was meant to show off one of the possibilities for multiplayer games by using the Wii U GamePad for five-player simultaneous gameplay.

Chase Mii would be the basis for Mario Chase, one of the twelve games included in Nintendo Land.

Gameplay

Each of the players plays using a Mii character. Up to four players using Wii Remotes, dressed as Toads, must work together to chase and catch the singe player who is using the Wii U GamePad, dressed as Mario. At the beginning of the game, all players start at the center, and the single player has fifteen seconds to run away from them and hide.

During gameplay, the Wii U GamePad player can see their own position from an overhead view and a map of the entire area, which also keeps track of the other players. On the television screen, the four players have their own screens, and are able to track the one player using a distance counter on the bottom of each screen.
