New Super Mario Bros. Mii is a Wii U tech demo based on New Super Mario Bros. Wii, shown off at E3 2011. The demo was primarily made to showcase Off-TV Play using the Wii U GamePad, displaying the same image on the television simultaneously on the GamePad.
This demo would be the basis for New Super Mario Bros. U.
Gameplay
The overall gameplay is similar to New Super Mario Bros. Wii. One player plays using the Wii U GamePad, while additional players use Wii Remotes, and can play using either the New Super Mario Bros. Wii characters or a pre-made Mii character.
The demo features five courses. Like with the New Super Mario Bros. games, the goal is to reach the flagpole at the end of the stage. Each stage also features three Star Coins to collect.
After ten minutes, the demo would automatically reset to the title screen.
